Ji Cheng returned to Fashion Scout for the fourth time, bringing her highly anticipated collection which she teamed up with luxury Chinese shoe brand Sheme. Opening with a film inspired by the tale of ‘Peony Pavillion’ Ji Cheng’s collection reflected the film’s story of love and passion.
Featuring beautiful tones ranging from auburn to fuchsia to mints and whites mimicking the gorgeous array of peony tones. The collection brought elements of traditional Chinese dress with a modern twists. From demure floor length dresses to low back shift dress to light and cutesy shorts and jumpsuits in pinks and mints, Ji Cheng’s collection told the story of love well while maintaining and bringing to life the inspiration behind the line – peonies – with three dimensional versions of the flower adorned on some of the garments.
Ji Cheng’s modern take on traditional Chinese study of beauty and art and her individual way of storytelling through her collection make her a unique standout designer. Her commitment to the story is astounding, from the clothing to the film and the singer who performed live for the finale walk, she really reiterated and brought to life the story of love and passion.
