Nigeria and indeed Africa is proud of Chimamanda Adichie but I honestly believe that the pride has attained new dimensions with the premiere of the movie, Half Of A Yellow Sun, a movie adapted from her book.

The movie made its debut premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday, 8th September 2013, and thereby placed Nigeria’s fast growing film industry on the international map in a very big way.

As one of the 3 top film festivals in the world, the Toronto International Film Festival is as big as it gets for a movie originating from these parts, covering a compelling theme, of such significance to us.

Some of the cast and crew that attended the premiere of Half Of A Yellow Sun include; Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Genevieve Nnaji, Onyeka Onwenu, Anani Rose, the Executive Director of the film, Yewande Sadiku and the Director, British-Nigerian filmmaker and playwright, Biyi Bandele.
