SB. TV, Britain’s fastest growing online broadcaster, have announced the launch of their first major event. The SB.TV and friends Xmas Party will be hosted at London’s Koko on the 21st December 2011 by Roll Deep. Sponsored by Wrigley’s 5® Gum and supported by Sony’s Walkman MP3 players, the event will see exclusive sets from the likes of Tinchy Stryder, Cher Lloyd and Labrinth to name just a few.

Starting out in Christmas 2006, SB.TV was born when 16-year-old Jamal Edwards was given a Sony Handycam as a present from his Mum. He uploaded self-shot videos of grime artists from his West London estate to YouTube, and from that, his project has developed into an online TV station with a production team of 15. It’s also worth mentioning that hits for his uploads are in excess of 80 million!

The likes of Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Chipmunk all owe credit to SB.TV, as it was there that they were supported for many months
before their first record deals. International superstars such as Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber are now looking for a spot on SB.TV to stand alongside the rising talents of the future.

Meanwhile, Jamal Edwards has been dubbed by The Sunday Times as ‘Grime’s answer to Simon Cowell’, and as we approach 2012, the SB.TV channel has established itself as a key player in the broadcasting market. The variety of music (pure urban, indie, pop, acoustic performances etc.) have left SB.TV with a team full of high-profile tastemakers. Widely recognised as one of the most inspirational voices of Britain’s youth everyone from David Cameron to Google and Richard Branson wants to be associated with TeamSB.
