The ZAA committee in London confirm the attendance of media tycoon Supa Collins Mandiwanzira to the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards on 28 April  The ceremony, set to take place at the prestigious Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in the heart of the city will bring together Zimbabweans and friends of Zimbabwe from all walks of life.

Supa Mandiwanzira has interests in newspapers, television production, cinema and radio. The international journalist turned entrepreneur first started his career working for ZBC as business reporter and news anchor. He has also worked at SABC (South Africa) and Al Jazeera. He has controlling interest in Mighty Movies (Zimbabwe’s top TV production house), Rainbow Cinemas and an interest in The Financial Gazette – Zimbabwe’s leading business weekly.

At the end of 2011, his company – AB Communications was awarded a free-to-air national radio licence and as a result, the station – ZiFM Stereo launches in Zimbabwe this summer. Some of his television work can be seen on the digital TV channel www.zi-tv.com.

“We are honoured that high profile Zimbabweans are showing interest in ZAA, this goes to show our commitment to attract a high calibre audience to the event, we are also expecting a few more high profiles individuals to fly in from home and will be announcing them in the next few days,” said Conrad Mwanza, the CEO of the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards.

The second annual Zimbabwe Achievers Awards to be hosted by Zimbabwean actress Chipo Chung promises to bring together the movers and shakers of the community in the UK and celebrate the achievements of noteworthy Zimbabweans who have pushed the boundaries and made their mark in diverse fields from fashion to business, from sports to media.
