The Alapomeji crooner, 9ice (real names Abolore Adegbola Akande), has joined the club of Nigerian entertainers who will stop at nothing to get a range of cars to blend with their status.
Sources gathered that the talented entertainer recently bought a Mercedes M Class and Honda Accord 2011, costing him over N20 million.
With ‘Alapomeji’ as his customized number plate, another source had stated that both cars were part of 9ice’s way in celebrating his soon-to-be released album.
9ice, a popular Nigerian musician, was born on 17th January 1980, growing in the district of Bariga in Lagos, although he is a South-westerner from Ogbomosho in Oyo.
9ice is known for his use of Yoruba language in his music and seeks to keep a balance between keeping a wider fan base and maintaining his originality. He compares himself to Youssou N’Dour who has won a couple of Grammys with music recorded in his mother tongue, and Yvonne Chaka-Chaka whose music has also embraced her language. He has been quoted as saying ‘English Language has been imposed on us but God graciously gave Yoruba language to us.’
