Good news only seems to be trailing Mo Abudu and her recently launched 24-hour DSTV channel, EbonyLife TV. We have received reports that Disney Media Distribution EMEA plans to produce the African version of popular Disney series Desperate Housewives. The series which is scheduled to be filmed in Nigeria will be jointly produced by Mo’ Abudu’s EbonyLife TV and Disney.

Giovanni Mastrangelo, General manager at Disney Media Distribution, Emerging Markets said the purpose for bringing Desperate Housewives to Africa is ‘to engage African audiences through locally relevant and entertaining storytelling.’

The Nigerian version of the popular series will be filmed on location in Lagos and will include actors from across Africa.
