The countdown has now finally begun to the world premiere of Last Flight to Abuja one of the most anticipated Nollywood movies of 2012. On Friday 8th June at the iconic Troxy Cinema, located in Limehouse (E. London), the Nollywood loving public will get their first chance to witness a ground breaking film that is set to exceed the expectations of Nigerian cinemas new found status.

After enormous growth over the last decade, the fledgling Nigerian film industry, popularly known as ‘Nollywood’ has now surpassed Hollywood to become the world’s biggest movie producer with any millions of eager fans worldwide.

Last Flight to Abuja is a high octane suspense thriller that unra#els the twists, turns and leaps of fate that put a set of everyday Nigerian travellers on board a stricken plane teetering on the brink of disaster at 30,000 feet caught up in a night are scenario all the passengers pray as the final moments of their lives approach. All except one! What does he know? Will they survive the last flight to Abuja?

 

Inspired by a tragic series of plane crashes in 2006 that rocked the Nigerian aviation industry and left 100s dead, Last Flight to Abuja boasts high quality production values using the revolutionary Alexa digital camera system fro Arri. Many observers in the international movie business anticipate the film will further elevate and redefine Nollywood cinema and create a much hoped for success that will help it ‘crossover’.

The world premiere of Last Flight to Abuja is now set to become known as the biggest premiere of an African film held in the UK  following the premiere last year of The Mirror Boy which currently holds the honour of that achievement and that of being the most awarded film in Nollywood history.

Last Flight to Abuja is set to be released across Odeon/Cineworld/Showcase Cinemas in late June with international premieres scheduled for Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and USA over the coming months.
