The 1st Nigerian Entertainment and Lifestyle Awards UK will take place on Friday 28 October 2011, 6pm -11pm at the Phoenix Centre Banqueting Suite, Phoenix Place, London WC1X 0DG. It is the first event of its kind in the UK where there will be an exclusive event to formally recognise the achievements of UK based Nigerians/Nigerian organisations in the entertainment and lifestyle industry – and yours truly, FAB Magazine has been nominated in the Best Entertainment and Lifestyle Magazine category.

Sam Onigbanjo and Seye Aina, the organisers of the Nigerian Entertainment and Lifestyle Awards UK will also be fundraising on the night for the benefit of two charities: the Down’s Syndrome Foundation Nigeria and the Children’s Development Centre supporting disabled children in Nigeria.

 

The Nominees met the following criteria:  

A Nigerian/Nigerian organisation based in the UK

Successful in their profession, career or work

Has gained recognition and respect from their peers, colleagues and the public

Has great leadership qualities and is a role model to others

Has risen to prominence with a recent achievement showcasing Nigerians in the

entertainment and lifestyle industry.

 

The Nominees for the 2011 Nigerian Entertainment and Lifestyle Awards UK are:  

 

Best Film: 

Mirror Boy, ÌMÁLÀ (The Triumph of Wisdom) and Disoriented Generation.

Best programme:

The Bottom Line, Princess of Arize, Meet the Adebanjos, The great cake bake featuring Elizabeth Solaru and ‘Say Goodbye Twice’

 

Outstanding contribution to Theatre:

Dipo Agboluaje, Bola Agbaje and Femi Elufowoju Jr

 

Outstanding contribution to Comedy:

 President Obonjo, MC Mark, Debra Odutuyo and Andrew Osayemi and Little Miss Jocelyn

 

Outstanding contribution to Music:

 Ayan De First, Ola Onabule and Dele Sosimi

 

Best UK Entertainment & Lifestyle event

Afrobeat Festival, Nigerian Comedy show and African Fashion Week

 

Outstanding contribution to Fashion:

 Adebayo Jones Couture, Nkwo and Kosibah

 

Best Entertainment & Lifestyle Magazine:
