Caterina Bortulussi, the creative director of Italian fashion label Kinabuti has thrilled fashion lovers again. She released last thursday her 2013 collection titled, ‘Carnival In The Desert’ at the Italian Consulate in Walter Carrington, Victoria Island Lagos. The Collection consisted of trends reminiscent of the African Safari, from African prints to khaki, tassels, pastels and bold patterning.
She went all out to excite, with signature pieces such as the satin leg braces on some of her female models, mediaval style hoods reminscent of the Robin Hood legend, sarong style appliques over bootcut trousers and a host of other impressive creativities. The collection consisted of fitted and loose silhouettes, as well as avant-garde and ready-to-wear designs. The collection was a way to celebrate Milano Fashion in Nigeria, likewise a celebration of the empowerment of women with whatever fashion statements they decide to make. The event was heavily supported by Martell and Vlisco. Check out the collection below.
