If this summer, you want to enjoy an insightful conversation and great music, Forward has got two special events to pencil in your diary at London’s legendary venue the Roundhouse on 21st July 2012.
Conversations with African Male Artists: The role of men in the campaign to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Senegalese superstar, musician and FORWARD ambassador Carlou D and guests in conversation with Ade Daramy (Colourful Radio) discuss the power of music in ending the centuries old practice of FGM. FGM has affected between 100 – 140 million African women worldwide. Join us to explore the role of music and art in bringing about social change and discuss how men can play a key role in ending FGM within their communities.
These men from FGM affected communities in Africa will share their views and thoughts on how men can play an active role in the campaign to end this practice. They will be focusing on the use of music as a platform for social change and share insights on the way forward. Finally you will have the pleasure of listening to a short acoustic set by Carlou D and guests.
