The first edition of Ghana Fashion & Design week. Expectations were high, especially since the promising up and coming Ghanaian fashion designers Duaba Serwa, Mina Evans and Christie Brown would be showing. Beforehand, the organization was motivating everyone to be in time but the event didn’t start until two and a half hours after the official starting time. Luckily the Ghana based designer Duaba Serwa and the Nigerian based designer Orange Culture made up for the waiting with their inspiring and daring clothing collections.
Duaba Serwa presented a 50s inspired collection including the latest Vlisco fabric collection. Besides the rich fabric use, her collection included her well known beading signature. The beading beautifully communicated with the fabrics and was definitely adding value to the perfectly cut silhouettes.
