Top fashion designer and long time girlfriend of rock star Mick Jagger was found dead in her Manhattan apartment yesterday morning in what is being ruled as a suicide. If you missed the news read it up here.
Her suicide and death comes as a big blow to the fashion industry as a whole and a lot of people are still in shock. Her death comes as a reminder to the world that appearances are not always what they seem. On the surface the world say a woman dating a man worth over £100 million surrounded by a seemingly successful business, friends and loved ones and good health. Yet something must have been terribly wrong for L’Wren Scott to make a decision to commit suicide.
59-year-old L’Wren started out as a model in the 1980’s but then turned to a celebrity stylist for a few years before finally taking a bold step to start her own fashion brand in 2006. Tall, glamorous, and beautiful, the 6 foot 3 model turned designer always seemed to have an air of ease around her.
Recently L’Wren Scott was expanding her line and brand name with handbags sold at Barneys and a collaboration with Banana Republic that brought us lipstick-printed silk pajamas. She also had a fragrance that came in a pretty red bottle with a silver snap. One Christmas a while ago, Lancôme released a lipstick in her favorite, particularly rich shade of Bordeaux red.
In a bid to remember the talented L’Wren Scott we count some of 15 our favourite looks ever from the designer:
