Notoriously provocative and boundary pushing are a few phrases one would associate with the singing sensation that is Lady Gaga. A walking work of art, she is no stranger to pushing the limits of the clothing she wears on a normal day. However, it would seem that one of her latest outfits wasn’t meant to be quite so revealing!

The “Born This Way” singer was recently pictured rolling up to the International Emmy Awards on the red carpet wearing a Stephane Rolland couture dress which featured a very tell-all slit to the waist.

The French label, however, say the dress from their 2011 winter collection was meant for a much taller model and given to the singer fresh off the runway. A spokesperson said: “The slit came way further up her waist than what our designers had in mind.”

Despite the slip-up-slit, the dresses designer says he is most pleased with the outcome: “We’re not mad that the dress ended up looking like that on Gaga,” he said, “she does make it a little naughtier!”

As fashion followers of Gaga and Rolland will know, the star is a huge fan of the designer and often wears his gothic but elegant designs. In fact, she was spotted in New York last month wearing one of his cape dresses.
