Lagos-based fashion label House of Jola by designer Joan Isioma Okorodudu presented its latest collection at DC Fashion Week on the 26th February.

Fresh from showcasing at the Ubuntu International Project during London fashion week Lagos-based fashion label House of Jola repped for Nigeria at the fashion showcase with her combinations and contrasts of vibrant colour and pattern hitting the runway. The whole collection was cohesive and tied together by subtle variations of colour in the garments, shoes and accessories.

DC’s fashion week which took place between 20th-26th February followed on the heels of New York’s fashion week, considered the nation’s largest annual fashion event. “International designers who have come to the US for the New York show consider it a treat to have their designs featured in Washington, DC, the world’s political epicentre,” said Executive Producer Ean Williams.

The week’s grand finale on February 26th saw 16 other International Couture Collections show and bazaar hosted at the Embassy of France spotlighting fashions from Germany, Nigeria, Thailand and other nations.
