As Harper’s Bazaar said, “It’s not often that we witness fashion history in the making, but for our December issue – celebrating Women of The Year - Bazaar witnesses a once in a lifetime moment.” As Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and Yasmin le Bon came together to form the cover of Harper’s Bazaar and star in a unique film with rock band Duran Duran and Swarovski ELEMENTS.
Described as the ultimate fashion, music and film collaboration and directed by Jonas Akerlund, the styling was completed by Bazaar’s Vanessa Coyle with an array of fashion heavyweight named such as Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Louboutin.
The sort film, named Girl Panic, takes its title from Duran Duran’s next single. It will take a bow at its World premiere on Monday night (7th November) at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2011. Fans can win tickets to attend by clicking here.
The video will see the supermodels take on the role of Nick, Simon, John and Roger (surprisingly with Naomi doing the honours of playing Yasmin’s husband, Simon le Bon) as the band interviews the ladies on the set of the shoot at London’s Savoy Hotel. In celebration of the monumental cover and collaboration, Bazaar UK has teamed up with Zappar to create their first ever augmented reality cover. All readers need to so is download the free Zappar app from the app store to their iPhone or Smart phone then select the Bazaar icon. Hold the phone over the Bazaar cover and watch on as the shoot comes to life.
