Becka Hunt was all smiles today when she was announced winner of a fashion footwear contest. The competition was organised by De Montfort University to create a shoe for Kate Midddleton. Becka Hunt was one of six footwear design students to present their creation to the Princess and Queen yesterday in England.

The colour of her shoe was inspired by “Kate’s engagement ring.” Its a “blue suede high heel with cream lace beading and an open front” which would go well with a number of the daywear dresses the Princess has been spotted around in.

I’m absolutely overwhelmed. I’m hoping this will get my name out there. I’m in shock still – it means everything and it is a massive thing for my career. I don’t know where exactly my career will go, but as long as I’m designing shoes I’ll be happy. Becka Hunt

The shoe completion was organised as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee visit to the university. Her Majesty and Kate along with Prince Philip visited Leicester as their first destination of  the Queen’s Jubilee tour.
