Amanda Wakeley showcased her AW14 collection with an exclusive Salon Show in her new flagship Mayfair store at 18 Albemarle Street on the first day of London Fashion Week, Friday 14 February.
Inspired the the elusive and erotic side of Japanese culture, Amanda Wakeley’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection explores the cities of Tokyo and Kyoto, influenced by the diversity of style and the individuality of their subcultures; she is inspired by their confidence and presence.
The collection delves into the rich history of the country learning of the Samurai and the warrior class and creates powerful silhouettes for the Amanda Wakeley woman that is strong, confident, fearless and poised a contemporary warrior woman who identifies with the understated seduction of the geisha.
Amanda Wakeley launched her signature label in 1990 and over the last two decades
has developed an international reputation for designing stylish, supremely luxurious,
womenswear and accessories. Amanda was awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry on 16th February 2010. She is also the winner of several awards including three British Fashion Awards for Glamour.
Her celebrity clients include Scarlett Johansson, Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsdale, Dita Von Teese, Charlize Theron, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mischa Barton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet. the designer has also had the honour of dressing many members of the Royal family, most notably the late Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Cambridge.
