FAB Fashion: Africa Fashion Week London Day 2 Gala Show – George Adesegun

Despite thirty years in fashion, Africa Fashion Week London 2012 was the first platform Nigerian designer George Adesegun chose to showcase his couture evening and bridalwear in front of an predominantly African audience. The runway turned into a dreamscape of whites and ivories with the occasional bursts of green, purple, blue and of course black.

Fitted corsetry and fishtail skirts creating elegant, feminine shapes, intricate embroidery and lush taffeta occasionally juxtaposed with fur, velvet and wool overcoats created a luxure, opulent feel – certainly the silhoutte of confident, contemporary George Adesegun woman.

If the first African runway in 30 years is such an inspirational affair, we can’t wait for more shows from George Adesegun.
