FAB Exclusive: Adebayo Jones at iROCK Tribes of Africa

Nigerian King of Couture Adebayo Jones opened the Tribes of Africa fashion fundraiser by iROCK UK in grand style in front of an audience of 200 on 26 May 2012 at the prestigious hotel.

Not only did Adebayo Jones pledge his support to the UK based social enterprise working towards mentoring and empowering young men and women of ethnic minority by showcasing his breathtaking creations but also celebrated his birthday with the guests.

Bespoke designs which showcased intricate craftsmanship and attention to detail came in summer’s trendy shades of metallics edecorated with crystal, sequins and shimmering embroidery and accessorised with equally exquisite fascinators by Lyze Hats. While feminine silhouettes created with pencil skirts and fitted corsetry showed a display of the designer’s 25 years of experience in refined designs, the pieces that stole the show were the floor-sweeping gowns in vibrant colours of gold, silver and green.

The showstoppers came in the form of a silver sequined number which caused an audible gasp in the audience as model-turned-mermaid shimmied down the runway shimmering and the penultimate the-piece incorporating a sheer top, embroidered fishtail skirt and a long shimmery cape which was met with applause from the guests dazzled by Mr. Jones’s design genius.

What a birthday treat for us fashionistas indeed!
