A new exhibition at the V&A focusing on the 1970s and 1980s will explore on the questions on Postmodernism and where the question arose from in the first place.
First emerging in architecture, as new interest was shown in buildings from the past and the minimalism of Modernism was avoided, the ideas of Postmodernism began to permeate various areas of design, including furniture and graphics. The exhibition will also examine the popular side of Postmodernism, especially the music of the era such as raves, New Wave and hip-hop, and graffiti art.
