We are always excited about the odd and unique collaborations that come out from the Nigerian music industry. While we can’t say this is a collaboration we didn’t see coming, we are excited about it all the same. Earlier in the year Olamide revealed that he is working on a collaboration album with another Nigerian music act, Phyno (Read details here) and now we get to see a few people Olamide has been recording with.
Uploading pictures on his Instagram, the “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” showed he was in the studio with old school Fuji artist Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, also known as Kwam 1 or K1. In a few of his songs, Olamide has referenced this Fuji legend who was a part of early music movement in Nigeria. One of Olamide’s songs on his last album is even titled “Anifowoshe”. Olamide is proudly and undoubtedly a fan of Wasiu Ayinde and has revealed in the past that Fuji influenced his own personal style of music.
Also spotted in the studio with Olamide is Falz- another new school artist.
We can’t wait for that to drop too.
