Nicole Richie understands the beauty of colours and spring – this seems to be the inspiration behind her cover shot and editorial spread for Paper magazine’s May 2014 issue. We love the purple hair, the purple eyeliner and all the flowers that spring up in the photoshoot.
In the article she talks about gardening, music, her reality show “Candidly Nicole” and her plans to expand her empire to include home goods and children’s clothing. Our favourite look is where Nicole wears a Valentino dress, skirt by Alberta Ferretti, belt by Emporio Armani, earrings by Anita Ko and Jennifer Meyer and bracelet by Gaydamak.
Here’s what the 32-year-old fashion designer had to share with the mag:
On her daughter Harlow‘s vision: “Harlow’s interested in what I do, and I’m going to bring her in and show her. But more importantly I really respect her eye. Nobody knows kids better than an actual kid. So I’ll be using her eye when I move into kids’ apparel.
On adulthood: “My idea of being a grown-up was living behind a white picket fence and changing who you were —getting a bob and wearing beige—but I found freedom being myself…
being able to do it my way.”
On her daily routine: “I wake up around 5:30, before the rest of my family, and that’s my time alone. Then I spend some time tending to my garden.”
We also got to see some of Nicole Richie’s favourite fashion pieces. We are so envious of those yellow shoes!
