Here on the northern hemisphere we are yet to see the spring sunshine, which means we can still get away with a winter-friendly look, and it’s all about natural eyes and bold lips to the vampy smokey eye and natural lips, either or they’re both gorgeous and cater to everyone. Both simple and chic you can’t go wrong come rain or shine snow, come day or night.

The A/W13 runways saw beautifully buffed skin, from foundation to primers and illuminators it’s all about simple yet strikingly polished skin, to much the simplicity and highlight the magnificence of the vampy lips and smokey eyes.

Eyeliner replaces eyeshadow for A/W13, creating a smudged deconstructed smokey eye. The ever essential sophisticated charcoal meets rich jewel tones of purple and greens creating the modern smokey eye which is much less refined than what we’re used to. There’s also the ghostly smokey eye to play with playing with cooler toned colours – cool pinks and light oranges, to add a bit of romance to the look. Both eye looks work best with a nude lip, keep the attention on the eyes and gorgeous skin and you’ll have the look down to a ‘T’.

The lips, on the other hand, are all about old-Hollywood-meets-Vamp, a looks that works on every skin tone; you have no excuse not to rock it this season. Similar to the eye look, it’s one or the other, so keep the eyes simple, a bit of mascara, or none at all if you can work it – it really is all about the lips, and you have the look. From a plummy brown shade to a plummy black shade, either makes for a strong evening look – glam and fashionably trendy.
