FAB Beauty – How to rock red lips in your skintone


  “Black girls shouldn’t wear red lipsticks or glosses” – That is a popular school of thought in beauty, which has been controversial in it’s own right. This myth is being debunked right now here at FAB and you can rock colour red whether you are toffee complexioned or black as cocoa.

Makeup artistes such as Bonnie Weekes, emphasise that if you are darker you should go for colours with dark undertones and if you are lighter, you should for colours with warm undertones. Youtube Beauty gurus, Yvonne and Seiko have joined in on the idea by releasing a video of different shades of red for different shades of black skin tones. FAB tip – The Mac Ruby Woo lipstick suits most women of colour, because of it’s crimson red shade and it’s matte texture. One thing to do to make sure its gorg when applied is to apply a lip balm and a lip liner around the edges of your lips to stop the colour running around and ruining the whole look!
