FAB Music: Fuse ODG-Million Pound Girl

Fuse ODG is arguably urban music’s most thrilling new talent in years, and the brightest start of the Afrobeats sounds taking over the clubs, the airwaves – and the charts.

Of Ghanaian descent but raised in South West London after returning as a teen, Fuse ODG’s dual nationality has been very influential in shaping the universal direction and sound of his music. Fuse’s anthemic debut single ‘Azonto’ became a huge international hit and viral sensation that spread the accompanying Ghanian dance craze across the world while amassing over 14 million YouTube views along the way. Proving to be no one-hit wonder, His follow up single ‘Antenna’ (featuring Wyclef  Jean) debuted in the top-5 of the UK charts, remaining within the top 40 for 13 weeks, accruing over 8 million YouTube views and selling close to 300,000 copies to date.

Further confirming that Fuse ODG’s unique style of combining his African influences with a global pop sensibility is reigning supreme, Fuse ODG has received consistent full support across Radio 1, 1Xtra, Capital and Capital Xtra in addition to recently garnering a MOBO award for Best African Act, MTV EMA nomination and numerous bookings to perform to tens of thousands across Europe and Africa, including Wireless Festival and main support slots with the likes of Sean Paul, Eve, Ke$ha and Wyclef Jean.

Now he is gearing up to release his infectious new single ‘Million Pound Girl’. A guaranteed party anthem in the making, ‘Million Pound Girl’ is shaping up to emulate and exceed the success of past hits ‘Antenna’ and ‘Azonto’, having already become a favourite across 1Xtra, Kiss and Capital Xtra.

Fuse ODG’s new single ‘Million Pound Girl’ will be released on 22nd December while his debut album is scheduled for release Spring 2014.
