Essence Magazine Gives A Stylish Take On Fall’s Finest Collections In Chic Editorial

The Fall 2014 collections have started being showcased and what better way to take control of your style than with inspiration from some of the finest collections?

Essence magazine takes on Fall’s finest collections in an editorial styled by Ade Samuel and Photographed by Takahiro Ogawa. The editorial is the pick of ESSENCE magazine’s Beauty & Style Director Pamela Edwards Christiani as she gives her take on the trends—full-length knits, cutouts, color-block furs, midi hemlines, gray tones, over-the-knee boots and more.

Salvatore Ferragamo: “The mix of fur types and tones brings a fresh note to color blocking. Neutrals are easiest to pull off, but primary color combos are just as hot for fall.” Multi-fur vest, silk dress, wool stockings and leather booties, Salvatore Ferragamo. Brass rose earrings, Jennifer Fisher.

Alexander Wang: “Boot lovers will appreciate this haute design from Wang. Fortunately, the leg is generous in width to fit calves a bit larger than a supermodel’s.” Silk-blend V-neck and collar dresses, silk ascot and leather boots, Alexander Wang. Rose gold earrings, Arik Kastan.

Peter Som: “A waistband of feathers boosts the fabulous factor of any outfit while concealing midsection challenges.” Chiffon and ostrich feather blouse and pants, Peter Som. Rose gold sapphire earrings, Arik Kastan.

Donna Karan: “Gray is one of the big hues for 2014. It shows up in the usual fashion suspects—coats and suiting—but the texture play of this feminine silhouette [with sexy cutouts] is especially fly: The back is sheer.” Viscose-blend dress and suede booties, Donna

Calvin Klein Collection: “Midi hemlines and heels present a retro vibe that ups the sophistication quotient of any ensemble.” Wool tweed dress and belt, Calvin Klein Collection. Rose gold earrings, Arik Kastan. Leather heels, Jimmy Choo.

Viktor & Rolf: “Head-to-toe knits were all over the runways, but the sweater coats are far more wearable than the two-piece knit sweater and pant sets. This option [love the crystal accents] grants you an outer wear alternative that can be easily paired with a cocktail dress or denim.” Nylon-blend sweater coat with crystals, acetate-blend dress and leather shoes, Viktor & Rolf. Rose gold earrings, Arik Kastan.
