Fast rising designer Weiz Dhurm Franklyn has released his Autumn-Winter 2014/15, Collection titled ‘Bridget Bishop’. For the collection, Weiz explores the intrigued story of Bridget Bishop who was accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials in 1692, he digs into her sense of fashion, living and lifestyle differed away from the puritans and the women in the society causing the uproar of the accusation.
Interpreting the life of Bridget Bishop, black remains a re-occurring color, with strong silhouettes, feminine, provocative, exhuming wealth with high end crystal detailing, hand embroidery and carefully crafted detailed cut-outs.
Voluminous gowns in silk taffeta and satin contrast with fluidity, floor sweeping chiffon, velvet and silk betraying the lust for cheapness whilst encompassing rich texture and expensive seduction; now and then gratification assembly into structure-like peplums that encompasses the feminine waists. Each twist and curves calls to mind the intimate depth of Bridget Bishop as woman and king.
