OMONDI, the namesake label from Recho Omondi, debuted a collection that was both beautifully constructed and instantly wearable at New York Fashion Week in February. The AW15 collection is in a palette of pastel pink, lilac, army green and gray; “The color palette was inspired by sunrise in the winter; those mornings when the cold cuts to the bone but the sky is so ethereal and enchanting,” explained Omondi. “It requires a lot of strength to survive winters, especially New York winters. Our girl this season carried that type of maternal, instinctive strength.”

OMONDI reflects her Kenyan heritage and her New York lifestyle and her label challenges the notion of modernity as it relates to the global, evolving woman and the brand’s philosophy states beauty as an object of culture, logic and grace.. She founded the label in 2013 after having spent years working with with Olivier Theyskens at Theory and Kimberly Ovitz. OMONDI’s Fall 2015 collection is a clean, cool, mix of textures in a neutral and pastel palette and we managed to get our hands on the lookbook, which stars Sienna King and DJ Smith, photographed by Mambu Bayoh.
