Women have obsessed about their weight for as long as I can remember. In recent times this need to be slimmer, fitter and better looking has spiraled out of control and most women go to extreme lengths just to get the perfect body. This need has given birth to crazy diets and even more rigorous exercise routines, and worse of all medical conditions like anorexia and bulimia.

I tried on numerous occasions to eat better and workout more; I only achieved success with my diet, as I had always been too lazy to stick to any exercise plan. But as I got older, I realized that just dieting wasn’t enough to give me the physical form I desired.

Bored at home one weekend I decided to test my dancing skills on my wii, after doing about three dance routines and getting a fairly good score I was hooked.

Soon I was dancing everyday and getting higher scores and to my surprise I lost weight! My arms got firmer, my thighs became more toned and my abs… rock hard. I was overjoyed, I finally found a way to lose weight and have fun at the same time.

it also tones and tightens major muscles in your body. Dancing can cause your body to burn as much calories as walking, playing tennis, swimming or riding a bicycle. If you are serious about losing a few pounds through dancing, be sure to pick the right type of dance, the more rigorous the better. For example, a fast paced salsa routine will burn more calories than a slow ballet routine.
It is important that you have fun with it, the more you enjoy it, the easier it becomes to make it a part of your daily ritual.
