There is no denying Beyoncé is the queen of self-promotion. Just when we thought it was all quiet on the Bey front, the singer released retrospective short film, celebrating a year since the launch of her self-titled surprise album. The 12-minute long video, entitled Yours And Mine, features a montage of footage from the album’s accompanying videos with commentary from Beyoncé herself.
Beyoncé discusses a number of issues from fame to feminism, from friendship to fear all the while looking flawless in a mash up of clips and close-ups from her visual album. The film also features clips of both hubby Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy too as Mrs. Carter reaffirms her feelings on marriage.
“People feel like they lose something when they get married, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There is nothing more exciting than having a witness to your life,” Bey offers. “You know, everybody is not good at everything, it’s OK to depend on someone – it’s actually what we are supposed to do, we are supposed to depend on each other. And when you find the person that you trust and you love and you feel is going to respect you… it feeds you. It is the most powerful thing you can ever feel in your life.”
The film ends with Beyoncé’s poignant words, “Happiness comes from you, no one else can make you happy – you make you happy. And one thing that’s for sure, the love I have for music, for my husband, for my child, is something that will last far beyond my life” as the singer is seen walking down a beach with daughter Blue Ivy in her arms.by
