The latest edition of MTV Base Meets…with MTN will feature young African creatives engaging with South African musician, Hugh Masekela. MTV Base meets…with MTN is a show that gives young Africans the opportunity to meet and engage in discussions with Global icons as well as politicians and leaders in Africa.
After several years in the music industry, Hugh Masekela still has an extremely active music career and is in touch with the latest music trends as is obvious from his work with Black Coffee, Lira, Zwai Bala, and Thandiswa Mazwai.
Masekela’s voice and music have played a role in South African politics including being used in speaking up against Apartheid. He has toured the world and released several international hits including his 1968 Grazin In The Grass, which earned him a Grammy nomination.
