Hello FABulous!

Yesterday I had a great night at the the Rich Mix Arts Centre in East London. The event was the monthly Market Club by the Lake of Stars and also featured the launch of Africa Unsigned UK.

Africa Unsigned works by using “crowd funding” to help catapult African artists, or artists with interests in working in Africa by giving them a platform to showcase their talent.

Juliana went to their Friday event. You can read about it here.

The live performances were AMAZING.

Rina Mushonga sang live. I can still feel the shivers from how pure and powerful her voice is. It was an unforgettable performance. Her fellow Zimbabweans in the audience were very passionate in their support from her and she got a standing ovation and an encore. She is definitely one to watch. And she has a great sense of humour. She joked with the audience throughout the whole set. I can’t rave enough about her.

Puncture Kit followed her act and was equally fantastic, but for different reasons. He is an phenominal drummer.

The entire time I was there was amazing. The vibe was so “cool”. It was the kind of place I wish I hung out at in my quest to be creative, quirky, you know, that whole artsy vibe.

The place was packed with music, people, drinks, and some games. My friends left me in pursuit of a game of table tennis…

So really there was something for everyone.

There were some amazing stalls too!

British-based Nigerian Chijioke Agoh was the first stall I saw. It was amazing! He designs and makes paperclip fruit bowls!

They are handmade by weaving paperclips together to create a “Decorative and practical” bowl.

You can see more of his designs at www.designedbychiji.com

Also there was a young Ghanaian entrepreneur Pammy B with her company Triballery.

She makes earrings at very very affordable prices! And they are a lot more unique than what you will find on the high street!

She is getting a lot of exclamation points because I love earrings!

Now her stall made me stop because not only were the products gorgeous. Her and her friends were really friendly. We had a nice little chat.

Here are some of her creations!

And yes, she wears her own products! Check these out…

Here they are close up. Yeah, I know her hair covered a lot of it!

If you would like to order earrings from her you can email her at triballery@mail.com

She basically gives a warranty with her products because she says if the earings break she will repair them for you!

She also says if you tell a friend (I’m assuming the friend and you must have bought a pair) then you get a free pair of earrings! Email her for the details on that give-away.

*whispers* So here is the plan. Email her and tell her Nwadi sent you *wink*

She is currently working on her website.

It was definitely a FAB day out.
